StuTS/TaCoS 2021

Hi all,

Two conferences for students of general and computational linguistics (Studentische Tagung Sprachwissenschaft and Tagung der Computerlinguistik-Studierenden) will jointly be held online in April. If you want to present the findings of your BA thesis or of a term paper or seminar project that you put a lot of work into, or if you want to meet linguistics students from other universities and find out what kind of research they are working on, this might be the place to do that!

FS meeting

Hi all,

We are going to meet on Zoom tomorrow (March 9th) at 7 PM. We plan to discuss the current state of the study programme for the next Lehrbericht (teaching report) of the institute, as well as feedback concerning individual classes and social activities for SfS students. Feel free to join us if you have thoughts regarding these (or any other relevant) topics! The link to the meeting will be on Moodle.

GSCL student membership

Dear all,

The German Society for Computational Linguistics and Language Technology (GSCL) announced that as of the beginning of this year, student membership is free. As a member, you can get to know other CL researchers, attend CL-related online talks and get cheaper admission to some German CL conferences. (Many of these events take place in English.)

FS meeting & office hours

Happy new year!

We just concluded our first Fachschaft meeting of the year. Our main talking point consisted of the results of the beginning-of-the-semester questionnaire, which we will share with the SfS’s advisory board tomorrow and on here soon as well :-) Thank you again to everyone who participated in the questionnaire!

Tomorrow, the first office hour of the semester will take place at 4 PM via Zoom (link on Moodle).
